About us

A safe place where we can act together against hate crime.

The Speak out Space is an online hub created to educate the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland about what hate crimes are and the support available for anyone impacted.

It is well known that hate crimes and hate incidents can have a big impact on those who have been targeted, those who witnesses hate crime and their support networks.

There are national hate crime websites but there is not anything localised for our communities.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland has commissioned the Speak Out Space to be a place to raise awareness, identify where to find support and how to make a report to Leicestershire Police or partner organisations.

Whether you are a victim, witness, organisation, or curious, here you can:

  • Find information about what hate crimes are.
  • Report a suspected hate crime.
  • Find support, advice and services if you have been affected by a hate crime or incident.

The Speak Out Space is supported by:

  • Leicestershire Police
  • Leicester City Council
  • Leicestershire City Council
  • Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council
  • Blaby District Council
  • Charnwood Borough Council
  • North West Leicestershire District Council
  • Melton Borough Council
  • Rutland County Council
  • Oadby and Wigston Borough Council
  • Harborough District Council
  • Report a hate crime

If you think you have been a victim of a hate crime you can report this online now. We will help guide you, step-by-step.
